THE BURLINGTON ZEPHYRS: Everywhere West
In 1934, the Budd Company created what they claimed was the world's first
streamlined train for the Burlington Railroad and sent it hurling down the
rails, 1015 miles non-stop in 785 minutes, from Denver direct to the stage
of the World's Fair Chicago. The railroad world has never been the same.
This tape describes that run, from on board, trackside, and from a Ford Tri-Motor
aeroplane (which had a hard time keeping up with it). It follows the train
from its triumphant tour across the U.S., its appearance as star of the Hollywood
film The Silver Streak (photographed on the D&RG in the Colorado
Rockies), its inaugural run as the Pioneer Zephyr and its final run
on a bleak winter's day in 1960. And that's just a beginning. It describes
the growth of the great fleet of Burlington Zephyrs: the Twin Zephyrs,
the Denver Zephyrs, the Nebraska Zephyrs and a host of others.
Best of all is the breathtaking color photography of the California
Zephyr on the Western Pacific.

here in a beautiful transfer from an archival print. The five-piece Mont
Alto Motion Picture Orchestra uses historica 'photo-play music' to create
an authentic, exciting and compelling score of the kind heard in movie theaters
in the 1920s.

CALIFORNIA ZEPHYR: The Story of America's
Most Talked About Train
For twenty years, beginning in 1949, the California Zephyr with its
famous vista dome observation cars pampered nearly two million passengers

fastest route to the west coast, it had the best scenery and became known
as the "most talked about train in America". This exciting program will carry
you back to the final years of the California Zephyr when America's
passenger trains were terminally ill and bleeding red ink from huge operating
losses. Through rare 16mm archival film footage and personal recollections
of those who worked on the train, you'll experience the pride and excitement
of the original California Zephyr before the streamliner era ceased
in 1971. Includes free CD.

because of its incredible diversity of scenery, the first class service,
F-7s all the way to the west coast. All of this is included along with incredible

DENVER & RIO GRANDE WESTERN
The Denver & Rio Grande Western means rugged, spectacular mountain
railroading, heavy freight hauling, and terrific action shots. That was
especially true in 1986 when this show was originally filmed. At that time,

pulled by pure sets of Rio Grande power, many with cabooses. Savor the thrill
of a cab ride up the Front Range to Moffat Tunnel, travel to Winter Park
to see the Ski Train with its heavyweight coaches, watch Rio Grande, Santa
Fe, and Burlington Northern trains share operations on the Joint Line between
Denver and Pueblo.

DENVER & RIO GRANDE WESTERN AND THE BUMBLEBEE
NO. 268
This is not just another Denver & Rio Grande Western video! This one
is truly unique. First of all, this one was shot in the early 50s, when the

another Antonito to Chama or Durango to Silverton video; it was shot around
Gunnison, Alamosa, the Farmington branch and between Durango and Chama. The
opening segment includes fantastic scenes of C-16 #268 switching in Gunnison,
taking a train to load some sheep, and the return trip. A Toltec Gorge scene
not to be missed on this video is looking across the gorge toward Rock Tunnel
and the train. Third, it was shot with high quality 16mm color film. Most
of the scenes are so clear and sharp, you would think it was shot recently
with the latest video equipment.
