The next major exhibit at the Colorado Railroad Museum
debuts April 27. Entitled "America and the Passenger Train from 1830
to the Present", the exhibit will tell the story of the importance
of the passenger train in the expansion of America, the romance of the passenger
train, and nature of passenger car travel.
The exhibit will kick off on April 26th with a day-long symposium on America
and the Passenger Train and the premier of a new PBS program of the same
name in the auditorium of the American Mountaineering Center in Golden. Speakers

Premier, America and the Passenger Train.
The PBS documentary, called America and the Passenger
Train, traces the history of America's rail passenger service from 1830 to
2008. Created by Emmy nominated producer Richard Luckin and hosted by television
talent Tia Marlier.
On Sunday, April 27th, a NEW exhibit, America and the Passenger Train, will
open to the public. Along with the new exhibit, there will be an autograph
party and tours of various passengers cars. In addition, the newly remodeled
museum gift shop will feature passenger train oriented merchandise.
Cost for the two-day PREMIER EVENT is $25.00 and includes Saturday's
presentations at the American Mountaineering Center in Golden, a box lunch,
and a preview/reception of the museum's new exhibit. Admission to the Colorado
Railroad Museum for events on Sunday, April 27th, is also included for symposium
attendees. The symposium begins at 8:30 AM on Saturday, April 26. The American
Mountaineering Center is located in Golden at 10th Ave and Washington Street.
